To know the secret, ask yourself, ‘Why do we need a blog?’. The blog helps us communicate to the world who we are, displaying our strong domain expertise and differentiating ourselves as a unique player. It’s called brand building in marketing. High Tech companies demand technical marketing, which can be done only by domain experts. I own the technical marketing for Maven Silicon. Trust me; it’s the most exciting job I love to do as a CEO. It helps me to connect with my loyal customers and industry partners and retain them.
I can also differentiate myself as a skilled entrepreneur from my competitors who do the VLSI training business commercially as businessmen. How can you be the best just by following others and doing the same thing? So, you need a good blog.
Here I am sharing some of the essential things which can help you to grow as a great blogger.
Content: Don’t write any article without any substance. Most of the bloggers just collect the data and publish the articles. Anyone can share the data, but very few can explain why. Your article reflects your homework and efforts. Sometimes you may want to interact with the industry people and understand the topic very well. Feel free to ask your doubts and make yourself very clear about the subject. This homework reflects your passion.

Imagination: You need to be very creative in communicating your thoughts interestingly. Though you may be a subject matter expert, you should still know how to explain it. Sometimes you need to connect the dots [facts & the data you have acquired] to see the big picture. It helps you to explain ‘Why’. Think about Albert Einstein – How did he visualize Space-Time and gravity? – Imagination is essential to apply the knowledge and connect the dots. Ref: SOP Vs POS
Short & Simple: Don’t simply go for lengthy articles. Many times, I just measure the length of the articles in terms of paragraphs before reading it. Anything so long like a 3 hours boring movie, people won’t read it. Always follow this flow: Write -> Read -> Edit. Do it iteratively until you like your article. You are your own best editor. Style: Leverage your strengths, language skills & storytelling ability. If you are good at creating videos, you could go for vlogs. I create videos too. Also, I draw pictures to explain complex technical concepts. It helps me to communicate clearly, displaying the depth of my understanding as an expert. Ref: SV TB
Subscribers: Connect with your customers. They should feel relevant and useful while reading your article. The number of subscribers reflects how much you are connected with your loyal customers. Happy blogging!
